The last quarter has always been the most important quarter for any retail
business. Most stores and companies do about 20-30% of their business for the
year in Q4. Regardless of what type of retail business one has, this time of
year is crucial to having a successful year or not. Many retailers put a lot of
time, effort and money to ensure that December attracts the most customers and
produces record-breaking sales.
Holiday marketing can be competitive. But don't get discouraged – there are
always ways you can attract new customers and delight your existing ones.
1. Give A Gift
Everyone is buying gifts for family members, friends, and co-workers this
time of year. This presents you with a fantastic opportunity to remind your
customers to take care of themselves too.
By offering a free gift with their purchase, you encourage a positive view of
your business and show your customers that you're here to celebrate the season
with them. Personalize your gif ts. Don't send similar presents to all your
clients. Consider your champion's likes and hobbies, and source a gift that will
be meaningful to them. Let’s take the customers who once purchased a Smad stove
as an example. Before buying, most sales person would ask the customers why they
buy it. For those people buying for baking cookies or, a whisk or kitchen
thermometer would be a good present.
2. Stay Active On Social Media
Social media has changed how businesses and entrepreneurs interact with their
audiences. In the past, you were required to go out and meet in person with your
customers to establish a rapport with them. The internet has mostly simplified
this, making it much easier to engage an audience on a social media
platform.
Try to post frequently on your social media channels during the holidays and
keep the content you share fresh and fun.
This is a great time to offer incentives and giveaways to your audience.
Giving small percentage discount codes as a reward for sharing your content and
sales announcements can increase your social media audience and gain new
customers.
If you have a brick-and-mortar store or restaurant, share photos of how your
space is decorated for the holidays and invite your audience to visit and enjoy
the seasonal decor.
3. Prioritize Customer Loyalty
Many companies forget their existing customers when they consider holiday
marketing by only trying to attract new customers instead of making sure their
current shoppers feel appreciated and motivated to keep shopping with them.
Making your customers return is vital for your business's continued success
and the winter holiday season is the perfect time to make them feel special. You
can do this by sending your current customers a valuable discount, a free
product, or handwritten holiday cards.
If you have customers who shopped with you last year and haven't made a
purchase yet this year, now is the best time to send them a promotion or gift to
tempt them to buy from you again before the end of the year.
No matter how you choose to let your customers know you appreciate them, make
sure it's personal and full of holiday spirit!
4. Customize Your Marketing Messages
It is a preparatory step that you personalize your message to your target
demographic, greeting them by their first names in your marketing campaign
emails or when they comment on your Facebook post. Personalization is a strategy
that increases relevance and engagement, which ultimately drives trust and
sales.
What's more, you need to know what they want. As a kitchen appliance store
owner, what does your consumer want from a kitchen appliance? Reliability?
Style? Maybe extra helpful features? Whatever the case may be, knowing what your
consumer wants and portraying that in your message is important. If you use
information about your customers that they don't realize you have, or without
getting a clear picture of their wants and needs, the odds are good your efforts
will backfire and you will alienate them.
You can include more customized characteristics or add some holiday vibe to
your message, through a distinctive design and content.
5. Partner With Other Local Businesses
Partnerships don't have to cost anything. The biggest benefit is the
word-of-mouth from the owner to their customers. They'll share info about your
business, and you can do the same for them.
Strategic partnerships can be beneficial for any company whether they are a
startup or a seasoned local business. Maybe a monthly or year-long partnership
isn't right for your business right now, but seasonal partnerships are a good
way to test the waters and see how well your products mesh with other local
businesses. Customize your products or services to reflect the various holiday
seasons. winter holidays, like Christmas, are good chances.
These tips are far from an exhaustive list, but I hope they give you some
ideas about Chiristmas marketing strategies.
